2000

Natalie Black was made the first female Head of School of a now fully co-educational King Edward VI School in 2000.

'In September 2000 I was appointed the first female Head of School of a fully co-educational KES. This was not only a great honour but also an invaluable experience. It showed me how KES functioned from the inside as an institution and the challenges it must have faced when the decision was taken to invite the opposite sex into the school.’
