Admissions Procedure & Key Dates

Each year, we welcome new students to join King Edward’s in the Lower Sixth for their A Levels. The below outlines the main points in your application journey.

The Application Process 

In March, senior members of staff and subject specialists will interview prospective candidates.  As a result of these interviews, and on the basis of a candidate’s predicted GCSE results, either a conditional or unconditional offer of a place may be made. Entry Grade Requirements

We normally require 6 x Grade 6s at GCSE, including the subjects you wish to study at A Level (if you are already studying them at GCSE level).  

Additionally, if you wish to study any of the following subjects at A Level, we will require a Grade 7 in that subject:

  • Maths (Grade 8 is required if you also wish to study Further Maths)
  • Physics 
  • Biology 
  • Chemistry
  • French 
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Italian

You are also required to obtain Grade 4 in English Language and Maths if not studying those subjects at A level.
