We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Biology to join our Science and Technology Faculty on a permanent basis.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach across all ages. At IGCSE, pupils can choose to take Biology as a part of the triple science curriculum, or combined science, with the Biology taught by subject specialists. Many go on to study the subject at A level. In addition, all pupils undertake a combined Science course in Years 7 and 8. The department is housed in excellent, well-equipped laboratories and enjoys a high level of resourcing.

The post would be equally suitable for someone seeking a first appointment or an experienced teacher. A willingness to contribute to the School’s wide range of co-curricular activities is expected. The School uses 1-1 technology to enhance teaching and learning.

King Edward’s has its own generous salary scale as well as contributing a highly competitive 22.5% employer contribution to the APTIS Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and a reduction in school fees. There is also onsite accommodation available to rent at a subsidised rate for single occupancy.

King Edward’s is one of Hampshire’s leading independent day schools with a mission to operate a forward-thinking, modern IT infrastructure to support over 1500 staff and pupils at our excellent School. The Head of IT will work with the Assistant Head (Digital Strategy) to define and deliver the IT strategy for King Edward VI Preparatory School and King Edward VI Senior School across our 3 sites. You will lead and develop a well-resourced IT Support team consisting of 2 Assistant Network Managers, 3 Technicians and an IT Administrator and Cloud Technician who provide IT support to our staff and pupils.  This is a central role, vital to our school’s aims and the efficient running of the School’s IT systems.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled IT professional who is up to date with current and emerging trends and emerging best practices and has the ability to adapt and respond to the changing needs of the business. You will have hands on technical experience and will lead and manage a team to ensure effective, efficient and professional service delivery. You will have a strong technical IT background with experience of managing an IT Helpdesk, server and network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services and ideally supporting a 1:1 device programme. You will have experience of strategic planning and implementing IT projects on time and in budget. Experience of working in an educational establishment would be an advantage but is not essential.

The selected candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills who is capable of thinking strategically. You will be an effective leader who can lead from the front and contribute to the day-to-day support provided to staff and pupils.

Bank Sports Nurse

Bank Sports Nurse

£30 per hour

King Edward VI, is a thriving co-educational 11-18 independent day school and we are looking to recruit qualified bank nurses to provide medical support during the School rugby season from September to December. We are looking to build a team of bank nurses to assist with Saturday fixtures at Wellington sports ground as well as occasional cup games on weekday afternoons. There is flexibility to agree work in advance in line with your availability.

You will ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the athletes and respond promptly to any sports related emergencies. You will assess and manage injuries and offer post-game care and guidance if necessary.

You will provide to our school community a clinically effective, high-quality service of nursing care, including First Aid, welfare and health information. Two years minimum qualified experience is essential; experience of working with children and families in a community setting and experience of A&E/minor injuries is desirable.
