We are seeking a well-qualified and dynamic Teacher of History and Politics to join our Humanities Faculty on a full time basis from September or January. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across all ages. History is a popular choice at both GCSE and Advanced level, and the department has a strong record of success. The willingness to teach Politics as well as History would be essential.

The post would be equally suitable for someone seeking a first appointment or an experienced teacher. A willingness to contribute to the School’s wide range of co-curricular activities is expected. Small teaching groups throughout the School are supported by the very latest technology and modern facilities including an extensive use of 1:1 digital learning.

Italian Foreign Language Assistant

£21.73 per hour

5 hours per week Term Time September 2026 Start

We have an exciting opportunity for an Italian Foreign Language Assistant to join our Languages Department at King Edward VI School.

You will be responsible for supporting the teaching team in our Languages Faculty to ensure that the students are exposed to a high quality of spoken and written language to support their language learning and exam preparations.

The ability to speak fluent Italian is essential. Good written and oral communication skills are a must, as is the ability to prioritise and plan your own workload in the context of conflicting priorities and to work on your own initiative. Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Science Technician to join our Science Faculty at King Edward VI School.  You will work alongside the Head of Junior Science to prepare science resources which support the delivery of teaching and learning of Junior Science which all pupils in Year 7 to 8 take.

This post would be suitable for someone who has experience of working as a technician and a strong understanding of health and safety. Junior Science at King Edward’s is a lively, practical‑work–focused department where hands‑on learning is at the heart of everyday lessons. The team places strong emphasis on engaging experiments, demonstrations, and investigative work that promote curiosity and enthusiasm for science among younger students.

Bank Sports Nurse

Bank Sports Nurse

£30 per hour

Required for September 2026

King Edward VI, is a thriving co-educational 11-18 independent day school and we are looking to recruit qualified bank nurses to provide medical support during the School rugby season from September to December. We are looking to build a team of bank nurses to assist with Saturday fixtures at Wellington sports ground as well as occasional cup games on weekday afternoons. There is flexibility to agree work in advance in line with your availability.

You will ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the athletes and respond promptly to any sports related emergencies. You will assess and manage injuries and offer post-game care and guidance if necessary.

You will provide to our school community a clinically effective, high-quality service of nursing care, including First Aid, welfare and health information. Two years minimum qualified experience is essential; experience of working with children and families in a community setting and experience of A&E/minor injuries is desirable.

King Edward VI School is seeking a highly organised and accurate Payroll Administrator to join our Professional Services team at this leading co‑educational independent day school.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely monthly payroll, statutory submissions, pensions administration and responding to payroll queries, working closely with HR and finance colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have previous payroll experience, excellent attention to detail, a strong sense of confidentiality and the ability to work collaboratively. CIPP membership is desirable.
