We are seeking a well-qualified and dynamic Teacher of Design & Technology to join a thriving and successful Department. The subject is both popular at GCSE, which includes core materials content as well as a focus in a specific area, namely; Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Textiles, as well as at A level where a Product Design course is followed.  Experience in Resistant Materials is particularly preferable. The Department is housed in purpose-built accommodation and enjoys a high level of resourcing.

The post would be equally suitable for someone seeking a first appointment or an experienced teacher. A willingness to contribute to the School’s wide range of co-curricular activities is expected. Small teaching groups throughout the School are supported by the very latest technology and modern facilities including an extensive use of 1:1 digital learning.

Maintenance Assistant

                       Maintenance Assistant

Monday – Friday 37 hours per week

£27,000 - £30,000 per annum

Location: Group role across four sites: KES, KES Prep, Prince's Mead, and Wellington Sports Ground. Travel between sites is required.

The Role

We are looking for a practical and versatile Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities Team. Your core objective is to assist the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring that all buildings, facilities, and grounds across our four school sites are maintained to the highest standards, providing safe, well-presented environments.

This is a multi-site role, and you will be required to travel between all locations to deliver maintenance services and maintain consistent standards. A driving licence is required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM): Assisting in developing and maintaining PPM schedules and completing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Responding promptly to maintenance requests, actioning maintenance requests, carrying out emergency repairs, and completing fault diagnosis.
  • Building Services Support: Assisting with HVAC, electrical (basic level), and plumbing repairs, as well as monitoring and maintaining heating, water, and drainage systems.
  • Grounds and External Areas: Assisting with external building maintenance (guttering, roofing), supporting grounds maintenance activities, and ensuring sports ground facilities, car parks, pathways, and external lighting are maintained.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conducting regular fire door checks and assisting with health and safety inspections.
  • Project Support: Assisting with larger maintenance projects, refurbishment, and event setup/breakdown.

Cleaner

Part time Cleaner

10 or 20 hours per week AM and PM

Monday - Friday 05:30 to 07:30 and Monday - Friday - 17:30 to 19:30

£12.60 an hour

We are seeking to appoint either two part time cleaners or one cleaner who can do both the AM and PM shifts to join our team and help ensure that the school buildings are maintained in a well-presented and hygienic condition, providing a suitable environment for the teaching and learning of pupils.

The successful candidate should be approachable, well-motivated and able to work equally well alone or as part of a team.  Previous experience would be an advantage, including use of floor-cleaning equipment and CoSHH, although training will be given.
