Full-Time or 0.8, Fixed-Term

We are seeking a well-qualified and dynamic Teacher of Chemistry to join our Science and Technology Faculty either full-time or part-time on a 0.8 timetable, for one year.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach across all ages. All of our pupils take Chemistry at IGCSE and many go on to study the subject at A level. In addition, all pupils undertake a combined Science course in Years 7 and 8. The department is housed in excellent, well-equipped laboratories and enjoys a high level of resourcing.

The post would be equally suitable for someone seeking a first appointment or an experienced teacher. A willingness to contribute to the School’s wide range of co-curricular activities is expected. Small teaching groups throughout the School are supported by the very latest technology and modern facilities including an extensive use of 1:1 digital learning.

King Edward’s has its own generous salary scale as well as contributing a highly competitive 22.5% employer contribution to the APTIS Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and a reduction in school fees. The school boasts a range of quality professional development opportunities and offers flexibility to work off site when appropriate.

Minibus Driver

16:00 – 18:00, Monday – Friday, Term Time Only

£13.69 per hour plus benefits

We are looking to appoint a minibus driver to join our team. The role is Monday to Friday, 16:00 – 18:00pm during term time only. You would be responsible for driving one of our 16-seater minibuses to drive students to and from school. 

You must hold a clean driving licence with category D1 entitlement (drivers who passed their car test before 1st January 1997), or a current PSV licence.  Previous experience of working with young people would be an advantage.

Geography is a popular and successful subject area at King Edward’s, enjoying both large numbers at iGCSE and A-level and excellent examination results. It is expected that the successful candidate will teach across the full range of ages and topics.

In addition to learning within the classroom, co-curricular activities and fieldwork play a central role within the department. Both day and residential field trips offer students hands on learning experiences and it is hoped that the successful candidate would contribute fully to all co-curricular and fieldwork events.
