KES Houses
Ask any student at KES and they’ll tell you their House is the best - and while each has its own unique character, what really unites them is the sense of community they create.
Every pupil is assigned to one of six Houses when they join the school, and each House is supported by a dedicated team of tutors, Sixth Form Heads of House, and a Staff Head of House. Even staff are given a House when they start, so everyone in the school community is part of this vibrant network.
Throughout the year, pupils earn House points for achievements in academic work, co-curricular activities, sporting events, and competitions such as music, drama, and arts. Points are tallied over the course of the year, encouraging friendly competition and giving every pupil a chance to contribute, no matter their talents or interests.
The House programme brings pupils together across year groups, fostering peer-to-peer support and mentoring. Younger pupils are inspired by older students, while senior pupils develop leadership, compassion, and care for their juniors. This cross-year interaction strengthens friendships, builds confidence, and helps every pupil feel part of a wider, nurturing community.
From competitions and events to everyday support and guidance, the House system ensures that everyone - pupils and staff alike - has a role to play in making school life at KES engaging, inclusive, and rewarding.
