Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022

It is with deep sadness that the staff and pupils of King Edward VI School learn of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We have a long and noble connection to the British royal family, with the Tudor King Edward VI granting a royal charter to establish our School in Southampton in 1553. As with many people around the country and world, we mourn the passing of a monarch who has reigned for longer than any of the current staff or pupils at King Edward’s have been alive. In the coming days we will mark the death of Queen Elizabeth and provide our community with an opportunity to pay their respects. Further information about arrangements at the School will be sent out to parents and pupils in due course.
