KES Celebrates GCSE Results Day
We are delighted to report that 68.7% of all exams taken were awarded a Grade 9 or 8 (A*/A) , with nearly 86% earning a Grade 6 (B) or above! See full comment from Mr Parker, Head, on this year’s results below.
"We are exceptionally proud of the wonderful results achieved by our Year 11 pupils in their GCSE studies at King Edward’s. This group of young people has faced some extraordinary challenges including, of course, the disruptions experienced during the pandemic - when they were in the critical first few years of their secondary schooling. For 68.7% of all GCSE exams taken at KES this year to have achieved an A* or A grade is testament to their resilience and focus, as well as to the dedication and passion of their teachers. This is especially true given that this year’s exams were marked for the first time since 2019 at pre-pandemic expectations in England. Regardless of these challenges, our pupils have worked incredibly hard, and these fabulous results are absolutely a reward for their diligence and effort. Well done to them all"
