Stroud School ANNOUNCES EXCITING NAME CHANGE TO KES PREP, CULMINATING A DECADE-LONG PARTNERSHIP

12 June 2023

Hampshire’s leading independent day school, King Edward VI, is pleased to announce a momentous milestone after ten years of a highly successful partnership with its Preparatory. Stroud School have revealed that from September 2024, their new name will become King Edward VI Preparatory.

The decision to change the name of the institution reflects the deepening relationship between Stroud and King Edward VI School. Over the past decade, the partnership has flourished, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration that has greatly benefitted both schools, their students, and the wider community.

By adopting the name King Edward VI Preparatory, (KES Prep for short), the school will now share a unified identity with Hampshire's esteemed senior school. This alignment will strengthen the sense of continuity and progression for students as they transition from the preparatory level to the senior level. It will also reinforce the school's commitment to delivering an outstanding education and maintaining high standards of academic excellence and pastoral care whilst instilling a deep love of learning.

Mr. Parker, Head at King Edward VI School expressed his enthusiasm for the renaming, "Ten years ago, King Edward’s formally joined with Stroud School in Romsey. We are hugely proud of our links with Stroud, and in recent years have built ever greater bonds of kinship with our preparatory School. We are delighted to announce the renaming of Stroud to KES Prep. This is an important statement of our commitment to families of children of all ages, making it clear that a wonderful KES education is available for children from 3 years old to 18"

For academic year 2023-2024, the preparatory will still continue to operate under the name Stroud School. This transitional period will allow for a smooth and well-planned integration of the new name, ensuring a seamless experience for students, parents, and staff.
