GCSE Success Opens the Door to Boundless Futures at King Edward VI School
King Edward VI School is today celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results, with pupils achieving impressive outcomes across a broad range of subjects and demonstrating the academic ambition, resilience and independence that are hallmarks of a KES education.
Among the standout achievements this year, 62% of GCSE subjects taken recorded all pupils achieving 9-4 grades (A*-C) including Mathematics, Biology, and English Literature. And, across all subjects:
66.7% of grades were 9-7 (A*-A),
85.2% of grades were 9-6 (A*-B), and
98.5% were 9-4 (A*-C).
These results are particularly significant because they represent more than examination success alone. They are the culmination of a learning journey shaped by the KES i3 Learning Philosophy, which underpins teaching and learning across the school from the earliest years in our Nurseries and Prep Schools through to Sixth Form.
Head, Neal Parker, proudly commented on the results:
“At King Edward’s, we believe that the best education develops more than strong grades. Through our i3 Learning Philosophy, we encourage pupils to be curious, self-motivated and independent thinkers. Today’s results demonstrate the power of that approach, and we are delighted to see our pupils rewarded for their efforts.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated staff and supportive parents, whose encouragement and commitment have played such an important role in helping our pupils achieve their potential.
Happy pupils discover their GCSE results
Whilst GCSEs mark the end of one chapter, they also represent the beginning of an exciting new one. We now look forward to welcoming many of our pupils into King Edward VI Sixth Form, where they will continue to grow academically and personally as they prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Our role is not simply to help pupils achieve excellent grades; it is to nurture curious minds, inspire a love of learning, and develop the independence and confidence that will serve them throughout their lives. Today we celebrate their GCSE achievements, and tomorrow we continue our work in helping them realise their boundless futures.”
Pupils, also reflected on their results:
“I’m very happy with my results and my A* in Economics.” Hugo
“I’d say I’m the happiest with my art, because I got an A in that and I’m going to do that for A Level as well.” Jess
“I’ve got the grades I needed. I’m happy with English Literature, I got a 9 and it was the one I was worried about.” Leo
From their earliest experiences in our Prep Schools through to GCSE success, pupils at King Edward’s are encouraged to question, explore and take ownership of their learning. Today’s outstanding results are the culmination of that journey, demonstrating how the KES i3 Learning Philosophy continues to empower young people to achieve academically, think independently and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
